My keto story begin around four years ago, when I discovered that I was a walking, talking heart attack waiting to happen.
Genetics were part of it. But so was my lifestyle.
In my late thirties at the time and a you son at home, I wasn’t going to take chances.
Going down the medication route was not something I was willing to do (at least not yet)… So, a big part of getting my health under control had to be a diet change.
Honestly, I wasn’t too upset about starting to eat better either… Let’s just say that inching ever closer to 40 wasn’t doing my physique any favors.
After a bit of research, I settled on what was a newly emerging diet trend at the time… Keto. My wife was on board, so, off we went.
Here’s the great news. It worked!
My health worries disappeared, as did the nearly 30 lbs of extra weight I was carrying. Better still, my blood pressure and sugar levels came down drastically.
I won’t lie that it was the easiest of journeys. Keto was still relatively new. The learning curve was steep, and getting food organized was initially a bit of a nightmare.
At first, shopping for our meals was a bit of a nightmare. The recipes we were making also left something to be desired… Boring and bland.
But, it got better. In time, we were able to figure out ways to make keto easier, faster, and, above all else, tastier.
Over the course of our journey, we started sharing our discoveries with likeminded family and friends… And they started to share things with people they knew.
And, it didn’t take long before The Simple Keto Way was born.
